The volume is the outcome of international scholars researc on the theme of strategic capabilities and knoledge transfer, at both intra and iner-organizational levels. The specific contribution deals wth the issue of digital econmy and the extent to which this can favour firms' competitiveness. In particular, the main research questions are: can digital economy be a source of sustainable competitive advantage? and can this logic be applied to tourism indutry? The main conclusions are that firms need to seek and exploit specific strategic resources and capabilities that must be rare and costly to imitate in order to catch technology opportunities and gain competitive advantage. The work concentrates on these resources and capabilities, with particular attention to firms operating in tourism industry and to inter-firm collaboration processes.
