The automotive industry is an interesting case to use in analysing the relationship between Lean Product Development (LPD) and the managing of knowledge. In the last two decades, this industry has undertaken a radical transformation. Along with this new international framework, most automotive firms have tried different productive organization models, trying to move from the Fordist approach to “new” work organization models such as lean production.
