The study investigates the connection between reflective competence of mentalization and the Key competence Learning to Learn. Many studies have demonstrated the important role of mentalization in activating a reflexive process about students’ learning. Moreover we explain how mentalization can be conceptualized as a multidimensional construct consisting in at least two levels of reflexive process: reflection and reflexivity. Finally, we discuss how mentalization has been used in our work as the theoretical framework within the European Project INSTALL in order to foster academic performance improvement of underachievers students lagging behind their studies.

Abstract
The study investigates the connection between reflective competence of mentalization and the Key competence Learning to Learn. Many studies have demonstrated the important role of mentalization in activating a reflexive process about students’ learning. Moreover we explain how mentalization can be conceptualized as a multidimensional construct consisting in at least two levels of reflexive process: reflection and reflexivity. Finally, we discuss how mentalization has been used in our work as the theoretical framework within the European Project INSTALL in order to foster academic performance improvement of underachievers students lagging behind their studies.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
