The tutorial provides a methodical and practical introduction to interpretative video‐analysis. The first part is dedicated to the methods of interpretative video‐analysis. The different existing approaches, like videography, videohermeneutics and video‐interaction‐analysis, are discussed, focussing on its respective underlying methodical principles and its diverse practices of data recording, selection, analysis and interpretation. A wide range of studies, inspired by Ethnomethodology, Sociological Hermeneutics and Genre Analysis, ar reviewed. This includes video‐analysis from workplace‐studies in control‐rooms and emergency‐rooms, the performance of religious visionaries, wedding‐ceremonies, the genre of powerpoint‐presentation.
