Abstract
The ecological approach, the introduction of greenery and nature-based solutions are a line of work for the design of contemporary metropolises, although it is not a completely new urbanism, the so-called "ecosystemic urbanism" proposed by Salvador Rueda for Barcelona (Rueda 2003), serves as a frame of reference for understanding the ecological transition processes proposed in the Spanish city. Ecological urbanism understands the city as an ecosystem and seeks the integration of urban development while respecting the environmental characteristics of the place, intervening not only at the level of mobility and increased urban greenery but also in the system of subway services for the proper management of stormwater as sustainable urban infrastructures (Coppola 2016). On a broad scale and as a city project, the initial proposal of the superblocks or "superilles" (2003-2023) represents a first way to win the city to the automobile and green the urban spaces, more recent is the way to green is through the proposed network of green axes (2019-2023), which would have to create synergies between city, nature and community (Coppola Mayorga Sole 2024). The "Gaudím Gaudí" proposal (Mayorga Fontana 2023) for Gaudí Avenue, which links the Sagrada Familia Basilica and the Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona, is an evolution as an example of urban and ecological regeneration that includes, in addition to greenery, activities, neighborhood life and community building. The proposal of civic infrastructure and proximity, assumes the problems of the high tourist attractiveness of the cultural heritage of the place, to generate compatibilities with the neighborhood.A proposal for urban regeneration based on the study of the existing reality at a local scale, to propose more balanced, green, healthy, safe and walkable environments. The contribution is part of the PRIN 2022 PNRR Security Town through Urban Planning (SeTUP) project, aimed at building a territorial model that assesses the urban security of green areas.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
