Abstract

Individuals with complex communication needs (cerebral palsy, Parkinson's, down syndrome, brain stroke, cancer impairments) often experience isolation, frustration, and limited opportunities for education, employment, and interaction, impacting their personality and preventing them from fully realizing their potential. My talk explores the integration of innovative AI-based "digital therapeutics" (Makins, 2019) in the treatment of communication impairment and their future scenarios to inspire the ASHA members and educate the audience by focusing on the socio-cultural process and ethical challenges in the doctor-patient relation.
