The former convent of the SS. Trinità delle Monache in Naples, transformed at the end of the 19th century into a military hospital, was sold as a concession by the State Property to the Municipality of Naples in December 1999, in conditions of complete degradation and, subsequently, included in the state federalism procedure (art. 5, paragraph 5, Legislative Decree 85/2010 - cultural heritage) for the significant historical and cultural value that it represents in itself, for the context of historical stratification in which it is inserted and for the local community, as well as for the strategic relevance for the purpose of enhancement and developing the territory and the city economy. This procedure, still in progress, aims at the definitive transfer of ownership of the complex to the Municipality of Naples and was started in September 2013 with the transmission of the complex enhancement program to the State Property Agency. Numerous projects and hypotheses have been developed to identify possible intervention alternatives, capable of returning the former convent to the city and, at the same time, triggering a process of systemic enhancement and management over time.
