In this paper I argue for an intertextual connection between a stanza of Alcman’s Louvre Partheneion (PMGF 1, 64–77) and a passage from Callimachus’ elegy Phrygius and Pieria, belonging to book 3 of the Aetia (fr. 184, 5–11 M.).
