The cemeteries heritage seems not adapt anymore to some changing and various matters related to social, cultural and technical contemporary aspects. Cemeteries have reached a “material density” – relating to the more and more saturated and contaminated soils – and an “immaterial density” – made up by people, stories and social relationships. A huge amount of stories risk to be erased and forgotten because of those enclosed cities’ fullness. Nowadays some new paradigms become central in the cemetery conception. The ecological matter is one of the main pillar: soils for burring are saturated and techniques are contaminant as well human bodies. That ecological emergency cannot be separated from other two important themes: recycling and sustainability. This paper referred to a research wondering about cemeteries in contemporary age in Italian and European context. That research has been the starting point for a proposal of Neapolitan cemetery system alternative expansion. Thus, the proposal concerns the recycle of the former psychiatric asylum Leonardo Bianchi, in Naples, in order to experiment a new idea of cemetery, in order to mitigate the soil pollution matter, to not waste agriculture lands, to deal with the identity matter. The aim of the project is to propose a multifunctional «lastscape» conceived as a living place, giving new order and shape to the existent legacy, in the end, giving new life and emphasis to multiple memories considering both virtual and real spaces.

Abstract
The aim of the project is to propose a multifunctional «lastscape» conceived as a living place, giving new order and shape to the existent legacy, in the end, giving new life and emphasis to multiple memories considering both virtual and real spaces.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
