The COVID-19 pandemic has severely impacted the world's health systems, which are ill-equipped to deal with such a widespread event. The whole healthcare system had to be managed with an emergency approach, adopting the necessary modifications to care delivery patterns. In such a context, the implementation of telehealth has shown to be key means for ensuring that patients are cared in effective and sustainable ways. Several benefits resulted from the integration of telehealth into healthcare practice. Chief among these was the opportunity for healthcare experts to connect and share their knowledge to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This chapter provides a three-dimensional conceptual model for depicting telehealth as an innovative solution within the healthcare domain.
