Abstract

Within the broader objectives of ecological and digital transition, the thematic field of green transition focuses on targeting building and urban projects towards carbon neutrality, the replacement of fossil fuels with renewable energy sources (RES), the need to progressively increase the energy rating of buildings by introducing clean energy production and adhering to a model of progressive electrification of consumption. The green transition goals on the one hand, and the evolutionary trends of photovoltaic technologies on the other, provide a renewed boost to basic and applied research on building-integrated solar systems, with the need to increasingly address the potential of building-integrated photovoltaic within the architectural, environmental and energy challenge. The Guidelines for Building Integrated PhotoVoltaic (BIPV) implementation. Knowledge and design for architectural integration aim at making photovoltaic technology integrated into the building concept and intend to increase the awareness of professionals in the sector towards the selection of BIPV solutions capable of having effective impacts on the quality of projects, concerning both new and technological retrofit, defining design criteria for a proper technological, linguistic, morphological and energetic integration.
