In this lesson, we briefly present the basic framework of the New Economic Geography (NEG) approach. We will use this framework to explain the effect of polluting emissions on the firms and workers decisions on where to locate. We will also look at the feedback effect of location decisions on the polluting emissions. Finally, we will discuss specific environmental policies in a NEG context.
