The prison is an inadequate spatial system and represents a risk to the safety of detainees and operators. The data on overcrowding condition provide an overview in which the civil rights are restricted, and the dignity of the detainees offended for a punitive idea of the prison sentence. The research investigates the appropriateness of detention places, starting from the rights enshrined in the Constitution (art. 27 C.I.); through an interdisciplinary approach, the proposal aims to investigate the quality of the spaces for the serving of the sentence, to define a system of transformative actions to create a “way of living” in prison respectful of human rights.
