Business Models in Digital Age: a Proposal of Framework for the Cultural Heritage Sector

The present research aims at providing an overview on the new approaches adopted in the definition of a business model, paying particular attention to the role of new technologies. In detail, we investigate the business models configuration in the cultural sector starting from the model provided by Osterwalder and colleagues (2005) and proposing a new framework defined on the basis of the most significant evidences emerged from the scientific publication and the practical experiences. As it concerns the contribution, the research outlines how the business models are being transformed by new technologies and provide a framework within which to understand how digital business models can be built onto concepts and practices of cultural heritage service.
