Una rinnovata consapevolezza/The Thrill of conscoiusness

This essay is a preface to the volume that collects prefaces, any theoretical and experimental contribution discussed during the 17th Villard project in 2015 and 2016. The main subject depicts urban spaces transformation and representative symbols of those big cities which constantly deal with an acquired and spread multiculturalism. The text raises both ordinary and original interpretations due to several hints and points of view. SUSPENSION together with an ever-growing consciousness of those temporary conditions, which barely find any balance, is the mood that deeply influenced both the seminary and this work. Migration, multiculturalism, signs of hospitality might be considered as a status quo. It is able to generate such a rich impasse, through which those reasons- that stand within the architectural project- revive. The three sections of the volume aim at: - depicting the whole background that helped with a new way of approaching the subject interpretation; - collecting those case studies which have been discussed during the year and helped depict- ing everything related to the general matter views; - reflecting on the methodologies applied by the students for the projects as contribution to the re-interpretation of the subject experimentations.
