We will first describe the main application and then will provide a theoretical insight on the theme in the framework of the theory of the transmission lines. Finally, we propose some innovation about this technology proposing innovative solutions that might in a future allow the measure in the field of both dielectric and magnetic properties of the investigated material in a generalized sense, that is, including some measurement of the losses due to the electric conductivity (or possibly to some phenomenon of electric hysteresis, but the method is not able to distinguish between the two) or to magnetic hysteresis.
