The production of imaginary and the elaboration of theories are inextricably linked each other. This reflection intends to underline that both aesthetic and gnoseological mirroring react to the categorical structures of collective consciousness. The imaginative heritage, in the multiplicity of its declinations, whether elitist or popular, becomes vital lymph for rigorously systematic investigation. It feeds, with productive otherness, logical thought and it grasps the never definitive truths of existence. In this paper we will reflect on some works of Western cinema. They are transpositions on an imaginative level of theoretical assumptions that raise questions about the state of violability of the female universe with respect to the majesty of male dominance. Between the fidelity of the document and the passion of the mise-en-scene, the atoms of imagery examined illustrate the drama of an ancient subjugation, marking significant articulations of a narrative that represents the presumed legitimacy of the use of coercion against women. It will be observed how the tragic split in a sort of affective dualism of the love feeling and the sexual practice is portrayed in the brutality of its darkest shades, from war rape to physical mutilation, starting from the origins of the filmic interpretation of the phenomenon up to the dystopias of contemporary science fiction cinematography.
