Through a philosophical-educational interpretation of Cervantes's Don Quixote, this paper provides a phenomenology of novel-reading understood as a specific process of subjectification (alternative to the one inaugurated by Descartes) and it makes a case for its powerful educational implications. In particular, it argues that a major dimension of this kind of educational subjectification resides in the specific regime of relationships that novel-reading establishes between simulation and illusion.

Abstract
Through a philosophical-educational interpretation of Cervantes's Don Quixote, this paper provides a phenomenology of novel-reading understood as a specific process of subjectification (alternative to the one inaugurated by Descartes) and it makes a case for its powerful educational implications. In particular, it argues that a major dimension of this kind of educational subjectification resides in the specific regime of relationships that novel-reading establishes between simulation and illusion.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
