In the well-known collections of the antiques of Capri, Bismack, Cerio and Munthe, a lot of fictile plaques, belonging to the typology of the so-called “Campana reliefs”, are kept. In spite of the bad state of conservation, these architectural terracottas insert themselves consistently in the figurative culture of the first imperial age, both for the thematic orientation and their formal output, qualifying them as products of a good handcraft, which uses urban moulds. The provenance of these finds from the imperial houses, is supported here. So the patterns are analysed and attributed to the expressions of the political and religious propaganda of Augustus in Campania.
