For rural areas lacking access to electricity, it appears essential to encourage the role of private investors in micro-grid development to accommodate the basic and future energy needs of developing countries. The G20 could stimulate the discussion through a global annual conference on energy poverty to identify and disseminate the best practices, and to engage the least developed countries
