The pandemic has undoubtedly impacted on the tourists’ behaviours in all the world, regardless of how much it has affected their particular area of residence. This research examines Italians’ travel intentions during and after the end of the pandemic. The study describes the current situation sing a quantitative approach. Through a simple quantitative data analysis the survey was made by administering online questionnaires (Google Form) through WhatsApp broadcast messages, reaching 700 respondents. What will the tourism be like after the pandemic? What will the main changes in travel behaviour be? Are there geographical differences based on the spread of the pandemic? The data suggest that there are passion and optimism that tourism will recover faster because the majority of respondents in this study have planned when and where they will immediately go after COVID-19 pandemic ends, and express new travel preferences
