The 6th Workshop on Gender Issue, in collaboration with the Scientific Observatory on Gender Research “Ipazia”, has the purpose of outlining a comprehensive and constantly updated research, services, and projects of all initiatives related to women at the local, national and international level. To pursue its mission, the Observatory promotes every scientific activity to improve gender studies, and it organizes scientific interest initiatives (workshops, seminars, conferences, studies, science labs) on issues concerning interdisciplinary gender studies. The financial crisis has characterized the economic and social scenario of the last decades. It has challenged people, organizations, and territories find themselves to operate, aiming not just to survive, in defence, but to innovate, explore and, organize new strategies and activities, forcing companies to detect new paths for growth and development. Companies' need to identify new growth and development paths takes on a particular connotation during unforeseen shocks, such as that caused by the recent Covid-19 pandemic. As recent data have highlighted, this virus afflicts the health and worldwide economic systems. In this context, it becomes central to investigate the effects that the health emergency has produced on companies in an attempt, on the one hand, to give visibility to the current conditions of the productive world, and on the other to propose solutions that help businesses to recover more quickly from the state of crisis. At the same time, governments have to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures taken and, if necessary, to introduce corrective measures or new measures to support economic recovery. “Ipazia Virtual Lab 2021” aims to give particular attention also to female businesses in the current context, because they are always very attentive to care activities and relational capital as a driver of strategic value. These topics appear relevant in the Covid-19 era. Other subjects are organizations that carry out business activities of general interest, non-profit, or for social or environmental purposes with a focus on female and gender issues.
