Recently, the analysis of benzo[aj pyrene In lood oils has become an important task due to the regulations in force that established lower limits lor its maximum content, fixed at 2 micrograms per kg. A procedure based on instrumental analysis is reported, In particular a preliminary separation on GPC followed by I Iigh Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analysis on reverse C18 column equipped with fluonmelcr detector was proposed as a relerence method. In this case a revelation limit of 0,1 microgram per kg was obtained with a good accuracy as required by the regulations in force.
