The Carthusian Monasteries of San Martino in Naples, San Giacomo in Capri and San Lorenzo in Padula are located on the territory of Region Campania. The work presented features an in depth study of the Neapolitan one, which follows, in its layout, at different altitudes, the natural decline of the hill of Sant'Elmo. The fascination and mystery, concealed by the complex of the Carthusian Monastery, can be brought to light through the different stages of the survey, which, in a collaboration including fields of different disciplines, was financed as a PRIN research project denominated: CHROME (Cultura! Heritage Resources Orienting Multimodal Experiences). The investigation activities took piace at the lnterdepartmental Research Centre URBANECO. The main purpose of the project is the pooling of multimedia, multimode data and its interdisciplinary treatment far the creation of a virtual agent able to increase the potentialities of interaction with the public visiting the sites and viewing works of cultura! interest. The survey carried out, with no contact and non-invasive equipment, allowed the determination of three-dimensional digita! models in fall compliance with the goals of the PRIN project.
