Abstract
The development of safe and effective drugs is currently hampered by the poor predictive power of existing preclinical animal models that often lead to failure of drug compounds late in their development after they enter human clinical trials. In order to improve the success rate of drug development it is mandatory to use models as close as possible to human pathophysiology. The recent developments of 3D human tissue models and of micronscale engineering technologies to create an organ on chip model represents attempts to get closer to the human reality [...]I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
