The contribution will concern the study of the Research Grant called “Pompei: Archeology and City”. The research does not analyze only the archaeological site of Pompeii, but combines the study of the great archaeological area with a reading of the contemporary Pompeian city and of its urban relations, existing or denied, with the archaeological area. The object is to plan possible spatial relations between the ancient and the contemporary cities, to redevelop parts of today's Pompeii. The research works on the fence/door/city relationship, looking for possible permeability conditions of the archaeological area’s fence, that allow the fragments of what remains of the ancient city, streets, arcades, walls, voids, squares, to become part of the contemporary city

Abstract
The contribution will concern the study of the Research Grant called “Pompei: Archeology and City”. The research does not analyze only the archaeological site of Pompeii, but combines the study of the great archaeological area with a reading of the contemporary Pompeian city and of its urban relations, existing or denied, with the archaeological area. The object is to plan possible spatial relations between the ancient and the contemporary cities, to redevelop parts of today's Pompeii. The research works on the fence/door/city relationship, looking for possible permeability conditions of the archaeological area’s fence, that allow the fragments of what remains of the ancient city, streets, arcades, walls, voids, squares, to become part of the contemporary cityFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
