Our goal is to provide a reflection on the approach to Spending Review (SR) in the Italian National Health Service. After presenting an analysis of the concept of SR in a framework of organizational change (van der Voet 2014), the focus will be on the methods of its actual implementation in the Italian health sector, to then conclude with some final considerations on the need to find a new systemic and holistic approach to SR in the medium to long term.

Abstract

Our goal is to provide a reflection on the approach to Spending Review (SR) in the Italian National Health Service. After presenting an analysis of the concept of SR in a framework of organizational change (van der Voet 2014), the focus will be on the methods of its actual implementation in the Italian health sector, to then conclude with some final considerations on the need to find a new systemic and holistic approach to SR in the medium to long term.
