Gradi di alterità e logiche di "traduzione": il caso di Hermes/Candaule

In this article, we use the identification x (foreign god) = Hermes as a case study in order to recognize which categories are put in place right to proceed to this translation rather than to another. Although in Greek perspective gods are everywhere the same, a foreign god can be identified, in fact, with several Hellenic divinities. We try to demonstrate how the different interpretationes reflect the degrees of alterity which mark the perception of foreign civilizations in Greek world.
