The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between CSR and bank performance, encompassing the mediating role played by employees’ orientation and satisfaction. It commences by acknowledging that the banking sector is perceived to be more sensitive compared to other industries when applying CSR initiatives, in light of the stiff competition among different parties and their contrasting interests. Although many studies debated the relationship between CSR and performance in financial institutions, this relation still needs to be deepened to taking into account important aspects. This paper builds on the awareness that the relationship between CSR and banks’ performance may well being shaped by the two predicted intermediate variables of employees orientation and satisfaction. An on-line survey has been submitted to 291 Egyptian bank employees and a structural equation model has been performed to test our hypotheses. The results show a positive relationship between CSR and financial and non–financial bank performance, that is reinforced by the mediating effect of employees’ orientation and satisfaction
