Among Pandoni’s still unpublished works, the poem entitled Vita militaris comitis Iacobi Picinini has a certain importance: it is introduced by a dedication preface and is divided into two short “canti”, with respectively 197 hexameters, and 281 hexameters. The poem appears to be a precious source for the biography of Iacopo Piccinino, and it is even more interesting for the rarity of the Latin texts in the literature about this controversial protagonist of the history of the fifteenth century. The paper presents the structure and the content of the poem, and reconstructs intertextual connections with classical literature and contextualizes it in the Pandoni’s literary production.
