This chapter deals with quality and the principal analytical methods to determine this parameter for bioethanol, biogas (biomethane), and biohydrogen (for use in fuel cells). The quality control of these products requires analytical methods certified by standard procedures and government rules, which may be issued by national governments or international organizations of stakeholders. The development of the standard specifications for biofuel quality is different in different parts of the world, depending on the national government policies.
