Der Einfluss Richard Avenarius’ in der ersten Ausgabe von Der Gegenstand der Erkenntnis

The paper analyzes how Heinrich Rickert - in his work Das Gegenstand der Erkenntnis - follows in Avenarius' footsteps. In particular, the paper shows how Rickert adopts Avenarius' notion of "introjection", i.e. the idea that the opposition between subject and object is not an original feature of experience, but the result of a misinterpretation of the relation between myself and the other humans. Thus, Rickert accepts Avenarius' immanentistic starting point, but at the same time he stresses the need to go beyond this starting point through the transcendental realm of value.
