Il rilievo come strumento per la conoscenza e la valorizzazione del patrimonio architettonico a carattere religioso di Napoli.

The city of Naples has a huge architectural heritage, a great resource able to promote and support an important economic and social development, nevertheless, in many cases with the passing of time the decay of this heritage has led to its limited use. The knowledge and the evaluation of this heritage are very significant to obtain information about the city vocations for transformation. In fact, the clarification of the value of monuments, through their survey and representation, allows to acknowledge the potentialities of redevelopment of specific urban areas whose attraction are not adequately enhanced. For the church of Santa Caterina – that was chosen for its strategic location in the historic city center as well as for its architectural and formal characteristics - a survey was carried out which led to the provision of an important graphic documentation for subsequent interventions of redevelopment. This church, though little known, represents - for its architectural quality - an opportunity and a potential resource for the community, as free space abandoned in the heart of the ancient city, reusable for different activities and for an integrated protection that takes into account its material and immaterial values.
