This article investigates the morphosyntax of passive and impersonal reflexives in contemporary Italian dialects and in some early vernaculars, considering the distribution of morphosyntactic, semantic and pragmatic characteristics which set several northern varieties apart from central and southern dialects and from Sardinian.
