Nodi critici dell’accessibilità ampliata del sito archeologico di Pompei: alcune proposte metodologiche e operative

The contribution arises from research experience we are carrying out in the archeological site of Pompeii. The research (FARO, University of Naples Federico II) referring to the “Accessible archeology: strategies for a widened use of the sites of cultural interest” faced up experimentally to the improvement of the Campanian archeological site accessibility. The problem that has been tackled was not only the overcome of the architectural feature barring advance to the handicapped, but also to obtain a conscious perception of the archeological area, safety services amelioration, comfort and finally the access to the ancient city. In particular, the work team focused on via di Mercurio and its domus among which Casa di Meleagro. Solutions and proposals have been based on the integration of conservative instances and fruition respecting the values of the decorative features.
