The Role of the International Judge

The course will be in three parts as follows: a) in the first part, we shall define the concept of the international judge. We shall also distinguish between impartial judicial organs and political organs with jurisdictional functions; b) the second part will look at the impact of international case law on the traditional sources of international law. c) in the concluding phase, we examine the role of international judges in the creation of a system of fundamental values based on the respect of human rights and the general interests of the international community.
