Smart cities are urban contexts in which stakeholders operate through new technologies in order to achieve better services for all people directly benefiting of them in the city context. This approach gave space to the proposal of different models during last decade and lots of different players acting in defining them. Furthermore these models presented interesting insights about stakeholders to be considered, activities to be performed, and platform needed to favour support by everyone. Nowadays lots of cities are becoming smart and they are applying these models to innovate the way they define and provide services to citizens and to all stakeholders. We analysed some of the models and some of the cities in order to understand which are the stakeholders involved in these kinds of activity and the contributions emerging thanks to their efforts, especially in terms of innovation.
