It is well known that a large part of the landslides which every year occur in the world are triggered by rainfalls. However, the mechanics of slope movements due to pore pressure change is not completely clarified. Abstract

It is well known that a large part of the landslides which every year occur in the world are triggered by rainfalls. However, the mechanics of slope movements due to pore pressure change is not completely clarified. Such a topic is the subject of this report where either the case of first-time slides or that of landslide reactivation are examined. It is shown that simple models can reproduce both processes of slope failure, and may help in predicting the slope behaviour, with particular reference to the rate of induced movements
