Enthalpies of vapirazation of formamide and six mono- and disubstituted N-alkylamides have been determined at 298.15 K, using a miniaturized effusion cell adapted to a commercial LKB microcalorimeter. The values obtained were consistent with those of other laboratories for other amides. Linear trends of the enthalpies of vaporization as function of the number of aliphatic carbon atoms are discussed. © 1985.
