The Seminar focuses on adaptive control methodologies of manufacturing processes applied in the manufacture of a new generation of jet engine components. A more cost effective and robust manufacturing calls for advanced and adaptive support to the machining and inspection methods, already while performed. An enhanced strategy for process monitoring of manufacturing processes, based on industrial needs and incentives is described. Through subdivision of the features to be monitored into smaller sections, different actions can be set for each section. Thus an Adaptive Process Monitor concept implemented in an industrial environment, though on a laboratory scale, is illustrated.
