Fast modifications in sceneries of contemporary constructions ask for a debugging of thematic studies and new strategic positioning in the field of technology research in architecture. It is necessary to modulate the offers of the doctorate according to the european bases on research, with relapses in constructions sector, as European Construction Technology Platform, European Commission Research related to the Seventh Framework Programme or Directive 2002/91/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 december 2002 on the energy performance of buildings. Research team in Department of Urban design and planning studied during last years many scientific arguments, like new technologies for buildings, life cycle buildings, impact reduction during the construction phase through the use of dematerialized technologies and renewable resources, light structures and eco-efficient products, ergonomic conditions in building or open spaces for consumers and people.
