Water is one of the main environmental resources utilized by the human society; water is considered as crucial element in the economic and social development. In the modern society, water is still object of deep social and political tensions. General pollution issues and environmental protection measures have to be added to the atavic supplies worries. At the present the global economy expansion doesn’t allow to consider the ecosystem as an infinite resource. In fact, when the economical expansion interferes with the surrounding ecosystem, the natural capital is very affected; moreover the natural capital dissipated has much more value then the generated capital.
