Aim of this work is to contribute to the knowledge of genetic structure of beta–lactoglobulin (BLG) and alpha S1-casein (CSN1S1) loci, limited to some variants (A and B for BLG locus; A and D for CSN1S1 locus), in Laticauda sheep genetic type (GT) and Bagnolese ancient autochthonous genetic type (AAGT). The typification involved 112 animals belonging to Laticauda GT sampled in 3 ‘demi’ (or breedings) and 52 animals belonging to AAGT Bagnolese sampled in 2 ‘demi’. On the basis of allelic and genotypic structure, the two studied GTs potentially produce a milk with a marked aptitude to cheese making; this will facilitate the maintenance of optimum quality levels, provided that their zootechnical safeguard is planned.

Abstract
On the basis of allelic and genotypic structure, the two studied GTs potentially produce a milk with a marked aptitude to cheese making; this will facilitate the maintenance of optimum quality levels, provided that their zootechnical safeguard is planned.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
