Abstract

A speech in English held by Raul F. Chong - IBM Toronto Lab. It’s a technical overview about DB2 Application development capabilities in conjunction with Web 2.0 technology. Students can learn how to develop fast XML applications supported by a database that stores XML documents natively. DB2 is a hybrid data server that allows users to store both, relational and XML data. Getting to know this application is important for developers using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) since it can improve performance in as much as 90%. Having this free edition of DB2, allows students incorporate the latest technologies in their application at no cost. A workshop on the ongoing projects will be held with group of students involved.
