This chapter critically addresses the intrinsic contradictions and the political and social tensions generated by the push toward the Ecological Transition in urban contexts. By relating the concept of transition to that of territoriality, the author analyzes how transition strategies can sometimes exacerbate spatial inequalities, polarize benefits, and collide with local socio-economic realities, especially in territories considered peripheral and often bearing complex historical and cultural heritage. The analysis focuses on the need for a more negotiated and inclusive planning approach that can recognize different claims and rights and mediate between the demands of heritage conservation and the imperative of ecological transformation.

Abstract
This chapter critically addresses the intrinsic contradictions and the political and social tensions generated by the push toward the Ecological Transition in urban contexts. By relating the concept of transition to that of territoriality, the author analyzes how transition strategies can sometimes exacerbate spatial inequalities, polarize benefits, and collide with local socio-economic realities, especially in territories considered peripheral and often bearing complex historical and cultural heritage. The analysis focuses on the need for a more negotiated and inclusive planning approach that can recognize different claims and rights and mediate between the demands of heritage conservation and the imperative of ecological transformation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
