This chapter introduces the main indicators able to describe and evaluate in a rapid manner the seismic risk of housing buildings considered in this manuscript. The weakness of buildings is evaluated based on their probability of collapse and extent of damages while transformability evaluations are performed evaluating the effectiveness of retrofitting and functional interventions in terms of general reduction of seismic risk. The evaluation procedure is applied to case studies selected within the framework of great size public social housing buildings realised in Rome during the ‘70s and the ‘80s.

Abstract
This chapter introduces the main indicators able to describe and evaluate in a rapid manner the seismic risk of housing buildings considered in this manuscript. The weakness of buildings is evaluated based on their probability of collapse and extent of damages while transformability evaluations are performed evaluating the effectiveness of retrofitting and functional interventions in terms of general reduction of seismic risk. The evaluation procedure is applied to case studies selected within the framework of great size public social housing buildings realised in Rome during the ‘70s and the ‘80s.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
