The Prophets of European Integration and the Rise of Inter-Institutional Litigation

The seminar examined the role of early advocates of European integration and the emergence of inter-institutional litigation as a defining feature of the Community legal order. Amedeo Arena introduced the session in the framework of the PRIN 2022 REILS project, situating the paper within a broader historical and legal inquiry into the actors, procedures, and narratives that shaped the early development of European integration. The discussion focused on how litigation between Community institutions contributed to clarifying institutional balance, legal authority, and the constitutional structure of the European Communities.
