Il Disegno come occasione di esplorazione dei Patrimoni Culturali. L’architetto Sante Simone (1823-1894)

In order to be able to distinguish the settled traces that are hidden even within the elaboration processes, it is necessary to perform a backward action, to retrace and try to rediscover the heuristic roots that allowed the becoming ideas to explore the boundaries of all possible configurations. This means initiating an action aimed at rediscovering the matrices (attributing to the term matrix the status of origin, fundamental cause, and inspirational element), constituting the inspiring premise of the first cognitions and the subsequent mutations in the signs. The inverse reading produces an a posteriori declaration of those syntactic relations that caused and cause manifested outcomes and that, in some cases, bring back the surprise of unexpected configurations through the graphic narration. This action is referred to the work and character of architect Sante Simone, under discussion not as much in his role as a technician involved in the making of buildings – ranging from the cemetery to the theatre, from the private building to the municipal palace, from the church to the urban villa, up to the city – but above all with regard to his activity as architect_draftsman.
