A plastic anthropology? Dialectic and Neuroscience in Catherine Malabou’s Thought

Is it possible for neuroscience and dialectics to communicate? Can the concept of plasticity be used as the key to reinterpret Hegelian anthropology? Starting from Malabou’s work, this essay aims at developing the implications of the comparison between Hegel’s idea of “habit” and the current research on the brain, in order to show the richness of the plasticity paradigm, which not only allows us to make different domains of knowledge communicate, but also makes it possible to convey the complexity of nature as inherently marked by difference.
