Di stazione in stazione. Arte e architettura lungo la nuova Linea 6 della Metropolitana di Napoli

Conceived as a surprising synthesis of engineering, art and architecture, aimed at both cultural development and the modernization of the territory, the stations of the Naples metro line have allowed the formal progress of architecture to be tested not so muchon the surface of the city, but in its underground cavities. The many internationally renowned architects, who designed the various stations, have cooperated with artists, in order to give life to an urban and architectural model that is unique in the world. The idea of setting up the space of infrastructure with artworks has changed the course of the cultural history of Naples, as well as people perception of the subway. This article examines the architecture of some stations of the new Line 6, in particular, the Chiaia Station designed by Uberto Siola, the San Pasquale Station by Boris Podrecca and Arco Mirelli Staion by Hans Kollhoff.
